Welcome to ProductizedHQ's inaugural productized service review, where we're thrilled to kick off with a deep dive into a copy-as-a-service tool, Ranked.ai. We’ve been shopping around for a content agency to help us with this site, and want to provide our transparent thoughts as we try different teams.

RankedAI, designed for content writing services, content management, and SEO optimization, is a standout in the realm of content as a service. Here's our comprehensive assessment of Ranked.ai, touching on every aspect from ease of use to the quality of service provided.

Ranked.ai impressed us right from the start with its 7-day free trial, which even includes a complimentary article. This gesture not only allowed us to gauge the quality of the content writing service but also provided us with a practical example to share. Such trials are crucial for any content subscription service, allowing potential customers (us!) to experience the service quality firsthand. We haven’t seen offers like this for many other Content As A Service agencies.

The platform excels in communication. Whether it's through chat messages or email, the response is swift and efficient. This feature is especially beneficial for content editing services, where timely and clear communication is key to ensuring content quality and meeting deadlines. The dual-channel communication approach ensures no query or update is missed, providing a seamless experience.

The dashboard is intuitive, appealing to both novices, seasoned users, and agencies. It provides a detailed SEO audit, (shown at the start of this review) which is essential for a content writing service provider focusing on SEO effectiveness. This feature offers valuable insights into website performance, helping users understand where their content stands in terms of search engine optimization. It appears to integrate with Google analytics, AgencyAnalytics, SEMRush and Ahrefs.

They have an entire service docs section that really stands above similar services (even those at much higher price points), if you have questions, it’s easy to navigate. See it here. (We’d love if this had a search bar.)

The customer service at Ranked.ai sets a high standard. They are available even on weekends, which is rare. This level of support is significant for businesses that rely on continuous content production and need assurance that they can get assistance whenever required.

The highlights are annoying, but we wanted to demonstrate how incredible their communication was.

The simplicity and speed of setting up our account and submitting our site and keywords were noteworthy. Within just 5 minutes, we were up and running. This efficiency is a testament to the platform's design and experience of the team, making it an excellent choice for businesses seeking a content management as a service provider that values their time.

With features like white-label options, Ranked.ai proves to be an excellent tool for agencies. These features allow agencies to brand the content and SEO services as their own, providing a seamless integration into their existing service offerings.

Another note on agencies, if you need more than what they offer, they have a bunch of add-ons that are perfect for higher volume, press releases, or video reports:

While the delivery time of 7 days for the article is reasonable, a quicker turnaround would be more beneficial, especially for businesses that rely on timely content production. This aspect is crucial in a content as a service model where speed often parallels importance, I started wondering where the article was, and reached out for updates around day 5-6. I would appreciate if they set expectations at the beginning of the process around timelines.

While the SEO audit provided valuable insights, it had an automated feel to it. We had several sections inaccessible due to no use of Google Analytics. Incorporating more personalized feedback would have added to our user experience. (However, I believe this would be alleviated with a monthly plan:)

The absence of meta keywords and images in the delivered article was a notable omission for us. We believe these elements are essential for SEO (even for a trial article) and overall content appeal, and their inclusion would greatly enhance the value of the content provided.

Update: True to their form of excellent communication, the CEO of Reached out to clarify:

Although we provided a list of target keywords, it was unclear which ones were prioritized in the content. More transparency or a discussion on keyword focus would be beneficial for aligning content with SEO goals. (It would also ROCK to see some results from KW research? It’s also an option in add-ons, so may be a paid feature.) When the article was delivered on Day 7, it included no notes (we could find) about which keywords or key phrases were emphasised. We assume this is due to us being on a trial. It appears this is resolved for monthly customers, but we wanted to be transparent here.

We ran the article through ContentPace, a KW research tool, with the KW of ‘Productized Service’ and got these results.

Important note - This is just 1 of many keyword tools, and we assume Ranked is using some premium options. We also ‘guessed’ it was written for the KW Productized Service, which could throw off the result.

We see word count and readability level here are missing the mark compared to others:

The Title seemed perfect! A bit longer than the rest, but all the more room for Keywords.

Big picture, this is the easy first choice if you own a non-content business.

You’ll end the year with 208 articles, backlinks, and optimised content structure.

We mention it on our Ranked.ai main page, but the closest alternative we have costs 5x the amount Ranked.ai does. With the same amount of capital, you can use Ranked AI for 5 months!

For those still considering other options, you might explore services like WriteJoy (starts at $500) for quick content requests or WriteBeam (starts at $1200) for bulk article needs.

Ranked.ai offers a robust platform for content creation and SEO optimization. They’ve been around 7+ years and clearly care about their service. They offer a comprehensive range of services from content writing to SEO auditing. While there are small areas for improvement, the overall experience was very positive, and I assume 80% of my mentions above would be resolved instantly by subscribing for a monthly plan.

Lets’s be clear, Ranked.ai is a strong contender in the realm of content as a service, content marketing as a service, and content management as a service. Its features and customer service make it a worthwhile option an incredibly priced option for businesses and agencies alike. It is the clear choice for those new to SEO or wishing to run their site on autopilot.
